Look of the Day!

This is what happens when I study!

I had a test today and I just couldn't get myself to concentrate so, instead of studying, I started watching tutorials on YouTube and this happened. I quite like it but I mean when don't I ever like something with a wing?

Here's what I used:

Lime Crime Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper
MAC Hello Kitty Palette in Lucky Tom
MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara
NYX Slim Eye Pencil in Yellow
Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Ash

I am really liking the Fluidline. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do...right now. I have to keep playing with it (since I just got it) to see what the hype is all about!

Anyway! Hope you guys liked this!

I will be announcing the winner on Sunday (sorry to take so long, school keeps getting in the way!!!) for the giveaway! So...stay tuned!

Also, if you guys have a MakeupBee account please go like my look!

Have a great day guys!

Daisy and Tumbler: Look of the Day

The last couple of weeks have been quite eventful! So eventful that sometimes I didn't even have time to slap some makeup on and look pretty. Now that the whirlwind of insanity is dying down I've finally had the time to play! Yesterday while I was at work, I wanted to do one of the looks we did at one of the shows. The thing is after finishing what I did I realized that I had actually combined two of the looks and hadn't realized it. I ended with this:

Here are the products I used:

Eyes (everything under eyes is Inglot except for the mascara)

  • 457 eyeshadow on the lid, blended into the crease and into the front of my eyebrow.
  • Body Pigment 17 on the center of the lid.
  • Kohl 01 eyeliner (not out until October) and lined my waterline and tightlined. I then added a little more to my lower lash line and used a tiny shader brush to smoke it out. I extended this line outward as if I were extending my waterline toward my the end of my eyebrow. Then I took a blending brush and blurred the edge of this line so that it wasn't so precise and looked smoky. Using this same brush I connected the eyeshadow on my lid to the line and blended them together to create a winged eyeshadow shape.
  • Duraline and AMC Pure Pigment 16, to make the inner part of the lower lash line electric blue.
  • Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara
Face & Lips
  • I used The Balm's Frat Boy blush on my cheeks
  • I dabbed Inglot's 173 lipstick with my finger.
Hope you guys like!

EOS Alice in Wonderland Lip Balm!

As if I needed an excuse to buy a new lip balm! Well, if you're looking for an excuse, I can give you one (or three)!

First let me give you a quick run through:

EOS lip balms are very popular because (these are in no particular order):

1) They're cute
2) They feel great on your lips
3) They're generally inexpensive
4) They're long lasting
5) They smell nice and they're not overpowering
6) They're 95% organic, 100% natural
7) I can go on...but I think you get it!

Well if these reasons weren't good enough before let me tell you about the limited edition Alice in Wonderland set! EOS partnered with Disney to create an Alice and Wonderland inspired set. The set includes three lip balms in the following "flavors/scents": Blueberry Potion, Watermelon Wonderland, and Sweet Vanilla Nonsense.

I love the little Mickey Mouse imprint on the side of the sphere. In all, the packaging is still simple but the little imprint makes it more interesting. What I actually found way more interesting was the packaging it came in, you can definitely feel the Alice in Wonderland whimsy in the product. I almost wish the little Alice was on the ball.

On to the balm itself!

They all feel about the same on the lips, the only difference is the smell. My favorite is definitely the Sweet Vanilla Nonsense. The one I don't like quite as much is the Blueberry Potion, I'm not entirely sold on the scent. It feels nice but I've never really liked Blueberry scents because I find them a little funky. The good thing however is that the scent fades after a while. The Watermelon Wonderland is really nice, I didn't think I would like it as much as I would but I do!

The set is only available at Target right now. It will be available at Walgreens, Ulta,,, and  in November. I got this set for 7.99, so technically you get three for the price of two.

If you don't have any EOS lip balm or you like Alice in Wonderland this is a cute set to get!

September 05, 2012

Sorry! I know I'm terrible! First no interwebz :( and now I have school and work to juggle! Not to worry! I have some stuff stashed away.

I'm really so over the summer and in effort to feel more Autumn-y (yes, I know it's not a word) I've been wearing dark lips with mostly clean eyes.

I line my lips with MAC's Chestnut lip liner and I fill in with Inglot's 413 lipstick. Chestnut makes the 413 more sultry. I wore this lip with some brown eyeshadow and a little but of Sugarpill's Goldilux in the center and today I wore it with a cat eye.

If you think you can't pull this dark lip look because it's too intense try to wear your dark lip with some mascara and nothing else. You can also play with the intensity of the color. Blot off the lip color until you're satisfied with the level of darkness.

Inglot Matte Lipstick

As of late I’m absolutely loving the Inglot matte lipsticks. I have a love/hate relationship with matte lipstick, they look so nice but they feel so DRY.

I bought Ruby Woo from MAC and as beautiful as it looks every time I have to plaster it on my lips I want to rub it right off.

This is why I really like the Inglot matte lipsticks. They’re formulated with macadamia and avocado oil, along with vitamin E. When you put these on, you can tell they’re not nearly as creamy as your regular lipstick but they’re a lot more comfortable than the piece of chalk matte lipstick you might be used to.

Sure, you can always apply some lip balm before you put on an ultra matte lipstick but if you can simplify the application why wouldn’t you? I also find that when you put a balm underneath a matte lipstick you have to really work the color on the lips.

The lipstick pictured is #418 from Inglot.

My Little Pony Series: Rarity

I used to love My Little Pony back when I was a young little thing and I recently starting watching the new series on Netflix annnd I love it. Go ahead! Judge me! I'll always be five years old!

As a child, I'm sure the idea of having a unicorn was always what drew me to My Little Pony. Let's not forget the colors and the rainbow hair. As an adult, this is still what draws me in. I personally believe that I am a unicorn (read my Instagram bio lol). I have pink and blue hair and I'm just as fabulous as the ponies.

Anyway, after watching a BILLION episodes today with my niece I decided to do a My Little Pony series! I started with Rarity because she's so stylish and let's face it nothing says stylish like makeup can!

Here's Rarity:

Here's what I did:

Sugarpill Eyeshadow in Tako, Lumi, Poison Plum, Hysteric, and Afterparty
Physicians' Formula Eye Booster
NYX Milk Jumbo Pencil
Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara

Anastasia Skinny Brow Pencil in Medium Ash
Smashbox Brow Tech in Brunette

Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation in 35
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed
Tarte Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess

Nars Lip Liner Pencil in Jilted Love
Sephora Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in 14 Shiny Natural Look

I have no idea which pony is next! I hope you guys liked it ^_^

Adventures In Hair Coloring

I've been obsessed with having pink hair since I was in high school but I never actually brought myself to do it. My mother was never really against hair coloring, hell, she made blonde with hydrogen peroxide when I was 4! I never thought she'd let me dye my hair pink when I was younger because pink is an unnatural color and I never had the guts to do it anyway. I don't know what's got in to me this year, I think I've been getting fed up with not doing things I've always wanted to do and so one day, after lots of YouTube videos, I went into Ricky's on 17th and 8th and bought a bottle of Special Effects in Cupcake Pink.

I've been lightening my hair little by little since my birthday. I've also always had the desire to be blonde, I've tried to in the past and failed miserably but I have been fulfilling that wish thanks to L'Oreal's Excellence Hi Color in Golden Ginger. This is a dye made for people with dark hair who want to lift their hair without bleaching. I really love this line. I used to dye my hair red with his brand in Red Hot and the color was bright, saturated, and beautiful. However, I always find that it's easier to make your hair red than it is to make it blonde and so I was skeptical about the blonde version of this brand. I did it and wouldn't believe how much lift there was in my roots but my ends were still brown! My worst nightmare! It always happens to me though so I went out the next day and bought the same dye and bam! It worked better. I've been doing this every four weeks and the color has been gradually getting lighter.

After much deliberation with myself, I went to a local hair salon and went to get my ends dyed pink. I took my Special Effects Cupcake Pink with me in case they didn't have a pink hair dye, my mother assured me that since they are a salon, they should have and of course, they didn't (thanks Mom!). I went to the hair salon with this picture:

The lady at the salon gave me a horrified look! I'll never forget it. She informed me that they didn't have a pink hair dye and I told her that I had my own, she then called another lady over. Apparently, this lady was the one with the most experience with unnatural hair coloring since she had two purple curls in her hair. I showed her the picture and she goes to me "okay." She also let me know that she would not bleach my hair. She explained that since we were already dying my hair more blonde, bleaching would be unnecessary because the hair would be lighter and take the pink well. I know nothing about hair and I believed her because she's the "professional." I'm usually a go-with-the-flow person at the hair salon because I usually don't know what I want. She began with the blonde and my roots were white, I told her she needed to fix that and she assured me that she would tone it down and she did. Phew! Crisis averted! Then, she applied the pink dye. After half an hour she washed off the ends and told me that the color was faint. BOO! I was sad. The color wasn't vibrant at all. She told me to come next week and to go to a beauty supply store down the street and buy a brand named Adore and that she would put it on for me. I went to the supply store found the brand and chose Pink Rose but I didn't go back.

Special Effects Cupcake Pink that was applied at the hair salon

After inspecting my hair I realized that I could do this myself and that I was unhappy with my ends because the color was all over the place. In a way I was happy that it was so faint because you couldn't see that the color was uneven around my head. I was very happy with the brand she suggested though! I applied it myself and got this:

It was much brighter but it was also turning more red. I wanted to steer clear from red! Everyone kept telling me that it still looked nice and it did but my hair wasn't pink! Last week, I went back to the beauty supply store and bought another Adore dye in Raspberry Twist and in Aquamarine (because the hair sample was soooooo pretty). Then...I lightener.

I promised myself I would't bleach my hair because I had been bad to my hair in the past and bleached it until it turned to straw (my desire then was to be platinum blonde). However, there was no way I was going to be able to get the color I wanted without making my ends lighter. I bought a Clairol packet and added a 30 volume developer and put it on my ends. I observed the process every 5-10 minutes for an hour. I figured that I would only bleach once and get it as light as I possibly could in one sitting. I then apologized to my hair and washed it with my Carol's Daughter Monoi Repairing Shampoo and then conditioned it with the Monoi Repairing Hair Mask. I left that on for about 15 minutes. The bleached ends weren't white but they were definitely lightened and most importantly the condition of my hair was still pretty much the same as before I bleached it.

I'm very happy that the Adore hair dyes don't have any alcohol, ammonia...they have nothing, so it wouldn't damage my hair any further. I put random strands of the Aquamarine because I thought "what the hell, why shouldn't I throw some blue in there?" I wrapped it in aluminum foil and went on to Pink Rose, I added it to the top half of my ends and then I ended with Raspberry Twist and applied it to my bottom half of my ends. I left it on for about half an hour, washed it off and BAM!!!! I finally have pink hair! Here are some terrible quality pictures:

I LOVE IT! The truest to how it looks in real life is the second picture!

Here are some things I might have forgotten to mention:

  • Adore Hair Color and Special Effects hair dyes are both semi-permanent
  • Adore Semi Permanent Hair Color costs about $4.00 the MOST
  • Special Effects Hair Color runs at about $12.00 at Ricky's
  • Clairol Basic White Powder Lightener Packet was $2.49 at my local beauty supply store
  • L'Oreal Oreor Cream Developer (Volumes 20, 30, and 40) run at $4.00
  • L'Oreal Excellence HiColor High Lift Hair Color runs at about $4.00 and is a PERMANENT dye
I don't think my adventures in hair coloring are going to end anytime soon! Happy adventuring!

Super Kawaii: Beaucon Shimmer Blue Circle Lenses

I've always had a complex about my eyes. My mother's eyes are green but my eyes are what my best friend calls "doo doo brown," they're muddy light brown and have little hints of green. My mother's green eyes are very lovely and although I would have preferred her eyes over mine, I always favored blue irises. When I was younger I was completely against the idea of colored contacts because I always thought they looked very fake and so, I disdainfully accepted that I should learn to live with the color of my eyes. A couple of years ago, however, my obsession with K-Pop led to my discovery of circle lenses.

Circle lenses, are contacts designed to make the iris appear larger and they come in a variety of colors, and what attracted me to them was that they didn't look fake. You can tell of course that the eye seems enlarged but the color almost always meshed seamlessly with the natural eye color of the person wearing them. K-Pop has become so popular in recent years and I've noticed that so have circle lenses. They aren't so difficult to come by now but if you're blind as bat, like me, then yes you'll have problems finding prescription circle lenses. Luckily, a coworker of mine told me about, a site that sells prescription and non-prescription circle lenses. I found the site and did as much research as I could about how natural the fake eye color will look over your natural eye color and I came across the Beaucon Shimmer series. I have to say that I am very pleased with the results. I initially bought the green contacts and I just recently received my blue ones. I love them both!

Here are some pictures:

Sorry about how fugnasty I look here! Here's me wearing the blue contact and my natural eye. No flash.

Again, I apologize about my appearance! This one here is with flash!

Now with makeup!
Now with better quality!
To me, the blue ones sometimes look more green and the green ones I own look more gray. I'm okay with this because in the right light they look blue and they don't look insanely fake. If you're looking into more natural circle lenses, I definitely recommend the Beaucon Shimmer series!

April 20, 2012

Oh yessss! I made time to sneak off and try to buy as much stuff as I could in the little bit of time I was given! I've already played around with some of these things and I can't wait to have more time to ONLY play with them!!! ^_^

I love these buttons...They're very suggestive...of my makeup skills! Haha!

I was really happy to find out that Miss Adoro was there, they had a deal for 12 lashes for $24.00 (including the fantasy lashes). Here are three...

Three more... 100% human hair!
