Park Bom Inspired Look

So, it should be no surprise to you that I'm into K-Pop! I love, love, love K-Pop!!! I wanted to recreate a look from "Can't Nobody" that the lovely, fantastic, beautiful, regal, heavenly...I think you guys get it, Park Bom wears.

Keep in mind that Bomtastic and I have very different eye shapes. My eye is more round and I have a bigger lid. I'm going to post the pictures and tell you everything I did wrong! What better way is there to learn than to go over your mistakes, right?

This is what I was going for! It's beautiful!
Here's what I did

My best Bommie face
Okay, so first off, I blended the color in my crease too much. It should've been more intense. Also, the bottom lash line shouldn't have gone so far in, maybe a quarter of the way in, not almost half way. I think I got the lashes okay. In the video, it looks like she has two pairs of lashes, one strip that kind of flares up and corner lashes. I didn't get a strip but put on a pair of corner lashes towards the center of the lid so that they kind of flare up when you open your eye. Finally, the crease color should've created a triangle shape with the wing, so that it looks like the wing of my eyeliner is smoked out.

In the video, she doesn't wear a lot of face products. Her skin (like mostly all K-Pop idols) is flawless. I just put on a foundation and added some highlighter that isn't picked up in my picture (lame -_-). In the scene I was trying to recreate, it looks like she's not really wearing lipstick, in fact it looks like her natural lip color which, is really rosy. I just took a red lipstick, dabbed it on my lips, and smoothed a nude lip gloss over it.

At least I know where it went wrong! It still came out pretty though ^_^.

  • Inglot 391 Eyeshadow (in the crease, as liner around the eye)
  • Inglot 353 Eyeshadow (all over the eye and lid)
  • K-Palette Eye Liner (over the eyeshadow to create a more defined line)
  • Make Up For Ever 6K pencil (in the inner rim)
  • Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara
  • Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #4
  • Nars Albatross Highlghter
  • Lime Crime Retrofuturistic Lipstick
Well, I hope you've enjoyed my attempt! I'll try again soon!

Halloween 2011: Roy Lichtenstein 60s Pop Art Character

I had a blast yesterday! My "costume" was very last minute. I had no time to think about what to do but I saw a picture on Candice's blog, Glossary, that totally inspired me!

Here are some prints:

Here's my take:

I started out with dots but as the day progressed I took them off because people kept asking me if I had chicken pox -_- (on my camera phone).

Without Dots (on my camera phone).

Dots (on my regular camera).

No dots (on my regular camera).

I was very happy with the outcome!

  • INGLOT 77 Gel Liner (on my eyebrows, to line the eyes and and basically any outline on my face)
  • INGLOT 25 Liquid Liner (on my lash line)
  • INGLOT 76 Gel Liner (to accent the tears and lips)
  • INGLOT 38 Soft Precision Eyeliner (for the tears)
  • INGLOT 126 Lipstick (on the lips)
  • INGLOT Long & Curly Mascara
  • INGLOT 59 Lipliner (for dots on my face)
  • INGLOT 183 Pigment [not available for sale, I would substitute it with Sugarpill's Royal Sugar] (on the lids
  • INGLOT 20 Face Blush (on the cheeks)
I hope you guys had tons of fun! I really loved how this came out!
